How the West Was Fun time, baby!
So we start off by meeting Jessica and Susie Martin (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). Jessica and Susie reside with their dad (Stephen (Patrick Cassidy)). Sarah (Jessica and Susie’s mom who got Full House‘d)’s godmother, Natty (Peg Phillips), is all “You should come to a dude ranch!” and Natty is unaware of Sarah’s demise. Natty is having financial problems. Jessica and Susie wind up getting their father fired (nice going, Mary-Kate and Ashley). Jessica and Susie tell their dad that Ms. Plaskett (his boss) gave him the vacation time; so, Operation Help Natty commences.
Jessica and Susie run into George Tailfeathers (Ben Cardinal). George is Nattie’s Native American foreman. We then meet Bart Gifooley (Martin Mull), and…
Bart Gifooley is the best character name in the history of character names.
Anyway, Lightning (their mom’s old horse) leads Jessica and Susie to what used to be their mom’s hideout. Jessica and Susie find out that Bart had tried to commit arson regarding the ranch. They also find out that Bart has been keeping people from the ranch. George interrupts with a riding lesson.
Jessica and Susie are pro-ranch. Bart finds out about Stephen’s employment situation. Jessica and Susie find out that Bart Simpson wants to Hallmark Channel the ranch into Gifooley Land Theme Park. Jessica and Susie convince Nattie of the truth. Nattie tells Bart to clear out or she will spank him, and…
I do not visit this portion of the internet.
Jessica and Susie go to see Leo McRugger to talk him out of doing business with Bart. Leo decides to visit the ranch. George, Stephen, Natty, Jessica, Susie, Laura Forrester (Michele Greene), the Professor and Mary Ann work on the ranch; but, Bart is not going down without a fight. This all ends with McRugger Hallmark Channel-ing the ranch.
Bart tries to leave and he takes Jessica and Susie with him. Bart, Jessica and Susie are headed for a dam. Jessica and Susie are able to save themselves; but, Bart gets hurt in the process. We end with dancing.
Sidebar/Salad Bar: Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) makes a cameo in this movie.
Sidebar/Salad Bar 2: Snarky Movie Robot gives you the Olsen twins movie formula:
- Take two twins. One of their parents is not living (if both parents are still alive, they are having financial problems).
- There are financial problems (even if both parents are living).
- The twins have to defeat a villain (normally an evil family member. If not an evil family member, another type of villain).
- The twins engage in behavior that would get them injured/killed and/or taken away from their parent(s) if these movies took place in real life.
Picture a saccharine Hallmark Channel western/ranch movie that has the Olsen twins as the leads and you have this movie.
