Does It Takes Two hold up?

Let’s find out: 

So we start off by meeting Amanda Lemmon (Mary-Kate Olsen). The Butkises want to adopt Amanda; however, Amanda wants Diane Barrows (Kirstie Alley) to be her parent. The powers that be are all “Amanda’s a social worker! She’s single and broke (sounds like a sitcom). She can’t be a parent!”

Summer camp time! Amanda runs into Alyssa Callaway (Ashley Olsen) and Amanda and Alyssa could be real life twins, guys (it is corny joke time at Snarky Movie Robot). Alyssa’s dad.  (Roger Callaway (Hallmark Channel Darling Steve Guttenberg)) is going to marry Not-Meredith Blake Clarice Kensington (Jane Sibbett), and…

I’m sure that Clarice would be thrilled about marrying Steve Guttenberg if she didn’t already have a side thing going with Hannibal Lecter.

Anyway, Alyssa and Amanda pull the ole Parent Trap switcheroo. Alyssa and Amanda set Roger and Diane up and Roger and Diane start to fall for each other. We then find out that Clarice is trying to pull the Meredith Switzerland from The Parent Trap card with Amanda as Alyssa. Alyssa as Amanda winds up with the Butkises and the Butt Smoochers are long-lost relatives of Cousin Eddie’s family/long-lost cast members of The Andy Griffith Show/extras in a Joe Pesci movie.

Amanda as Alyssa had revealed the truth to Vincenzo (Philip Bosco) and Vincenzo lets Diane in on the secret. Diane saves Alyssa from the incest clan and she gets Alyssa to the wedding. Roger decides not to go through with the wedding and Alyssa winds up pantsing (dressing/undressing?) Clarice. 

Roger and Diane wind up together.
