Suicide Squad time, baby!

So we start off with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) forming Task Force X. In other words, a team of criminals with bombs around their necks to get them to cooperate and, if the criminals do cooperate, they get less jail time.

Archeologist June Moone (Cara Delevingne) is a vessel for the Enchantress. Waller uses the Enchantress’ heart to control her. Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) is in a relationship with Moone. 

Task Force X/the Suicide Squad consists of:

1. Floyd Lawton / Deadshot (Will Smith). Floyd has a daughter (Zoe (Shailyn Pierre-Dixon).

2. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)

3. Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney)

4. Chato Santana / El Diablo (Jay Hernandez)

5. Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje)

6. Slipknot (Adam Beach)

Flag and Katana (Karen Fukuhara) are in charge of the team. Slipknot becomes Boomerang’s guinea pig for the bomb theorem.

The Joker (Jared Leto) comes for Harley and he dismantles her bomb. Waller goes after the Joker, the Joker “dies” and Harley rejoins the team. 

The Enchantress goes after Waller. We find out that El Diablo’s abilities caused his family’s demise. Flag is all “Guys, you don’t have to go through with the mission”; but, they decide to, anyway.

The team goes after the Enchantress. The Enchantress is all “Join me!” and Harley acts like she is considering it; but, she winds up getting the Enchantress’ heart. The Enchantress’ heart is destroyed and Moone goes back to normal. The team gets less jail time and the still-alive Joker comes to get Harley from Belle Reve.

The reason to stay in the theater during the credits:

Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) meets up with Waller. We find out that Bruce is starting the Justice League and that Waller knows that Bruce is Batman. Bruce wants to dismantle the Suicide Squad.

Suicide Squad has a great soundtrack and Robbie is fun; but, it is a slog.
