Does Halloweentown High hold up?
Let’s find out:
So we start off by reuniting with Marnie Piper (Kimberly J. Brown). Marnie wants Halloweentown students to attend her high school. However, Halloweentown is worried because of the Knights of the Iron Dagger. Marnie bets the Cromwell magic, and…
Girl should not play poker.
Anyway, the Halloweentown students in disguise come to Marnie’s high school. Aggie (Debbie Reynolds) teaches. Prince Eric doppelgänger Cody (Finn Wittrock) has a crush on Marnie and Marnie works on getting the students involved with the school.
However, the Knights of the Iron Dagger interfere. The kids briefly become their Halloweentown forms and Cassie (Eliana Reyes) is missing in action.
Principal Phil Flanagan (Clifton Davis) has a crush on Aggie. Aggie worries about Cody and Marnie worries about the principal. It turns out that Marnie was right; Flanagan is a Knight of the Iron Dagger.
However, it turns out that Edgar Dalloway (Michael Flynn) is the one who wants Halloweentown/real world separation. The Halloweentown students try to improve things by doing the most boring haunted house ever. We then reunite with Gwen Piper ( Judith Hoag), who is trying to find Cassie.
Dalloway creates the most realistic animatronic monsters of all time. Flanagan sends a crowd after the students; but, the students charm the crowd. Flanagan gives up being a Knight of the Iron Dagger.
It looks like Dalloway is going to win; but, the Cromwells get their magic back, Cassie is found and Dalloway is taken away; but, not in his way. Halloweentown and the real world are at peace and Marnie and Cody get together.
Halloweentown High is more of the same. It is better than the first Halloweentown movie. It feels very Disney Channel-y. It feels like your average Disney Channel movie. There are some cute moments.
