Panem… 12 districts… you know the drill. 

Katniss Everdeen (a fantastic Jennifer Lawrence) takes her sister’s (Primrose Everdeen (Willow Shields) place in the Hunger Games. Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) is also participating in the Hunger Games. Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) is the Obi-Wan Kenobi figure to Katniss and Pita Bread. Pita Bread is a smitten kitten for Katniss.

Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley) manipulates Katniss towards the other tributes. Rue (Amandla Stenberg) helps Katniss kill/escape Glimmer (Leven Rambin). 

Rue and Katniss grow closer; but, Marvel (Jack Quaid) offs Rue and Katniss offs Marvel. Rue’s death causes an uproar.

Katniss and Pita Bread spend some quality time. Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman) goes after Katniss; but, Thresh (Dayo Okeniyi) offs Clove.

Crane sends beasts after the tributes and the beasts off Thresh. Katniss and the beasts off Cato (Alexander Ludwig).

Katniss and Pita Bread decide to eat some nightlock berries/poison berries; but, Crane puts a stop to this nonsense, only for President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) to get Crane some nightlock berries/poison berries.

The Hunger Games is still a good movie.
