Does Tarzan & Jane hold up?

Let’s find out:

The framing device is Jane (voiced by Olivia d’Abo) trying to figure out how to celebrate her anniversary with Tarzan (voiced by Michael T. Weiss).

Segment 1/Tarzan and the British Invasion:

Jane’s friends come to save her, erroneously believing that Jane is in danger. Tarzan thinks that Jane does not like him. Two panthers go after Jane and her friends, Jane starts pantsing her friends, and… 

Real story about my cousin and I when we were kids/Proof that I was a weird kid:

 Kid me: You have to see this scene in Tarzan & Jane. It’s so funny! Jane’s friends are in their underwear! 

My cousin (shrugs): Okay.

(My cousin and I walk past my mom).

(Kid me, in my best I’m-innocent-and-we’re-up-to-nothing-Mom voice): Mom, we’re going to watch Tarzan & Jane.

Mom (bored disinterest): Okay. Have fun.

(My cousin and I watch the aforementioned scene. Kid me laughs hysterically. My cousin looks at me like I’m insane. Finally, my cousin turns to me.)

My cousin: Can we do something else?

Again, proof that I was a weird kid.

Anyway, Tarzan saves Jane and her friends and the visit ends well.

Segment 2/ Tarzan and the Volcanic Diamond Mine:

Tarzan wants to give Jane a diamond. Johannes Niels (voiced by John O’Hurley) and Merkus (voiced by Jim Cummings) help Tarzan with this quest at a diamond-filled volcano; however, the men betray him. Tarzan, Jane, and Professor Porter have to leave the erupting volcano and Tarzan winds up saving Johannes Niels and Merkus and the two face justice.

Segment 3/Tarzan and the Flying Ace

Robert Canler (voiced by Jeff Bennett) comes to see Jane and Tarzan is green with envy… until it turns out that Canler is a double agent for the Germans. Anyway, Canler came to see Jane to get an incognito code machine. Canler takes Jane; however, Tarzan and Nigel Taylor (voiced by Alexis Denisof) save Jane and Canler faces justice.

The movie ends with Tarzan and Jane celebrating their anniversary.

Tarzan & Jane is like Belle’s Magical World or Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. It is obviously cobbled together from episodes of The Legend of Tarzan. The episodes are time wasters/time fillers; however, they do not do any damage to the characters of Tarzan.
