Does Sweet Home Alabama hold up?

So we start off by meeting fashion designer Melanie Carmichael (her real last name is  Smooter) (a fantastic Reese Witherspoon). Melanie is engaged to Andrew Hennings (Patrick Dempsey); however, she is not divorced from her first husband- Jake Perry (a fantastic Josh Lucas).

So, Melanie goes home and she makes amends with a lot of people- including Bobby Ray (Ethan Embry).

Now, you know what is going to happen next.

Melanie and Jake are going to grow closer, Andrew is going to find out that Melanie is married, Andrew is going to forgive Melanie, Melanie and Jake are going to have a mandatory third-act rom-com break-up montage and Melanie and Jake get together.

Despite some elements that have not aged well, Sweet Home Alabama is a cute rom-com.
