I liked Herbie: Fully Loaded when I was a kid; but, does it hold up?

So we start off with a montage that shows the rise and fall of Herbie, and…

We then meet Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan). The Peytons are a racing family. Maggie is the daughter of Ray Peyton Sr. (Michael Keaton) and she has a brother (Ray Peyton, Jr. (Breckin Meyer). Maggie’s love interest is Kevin (Justin Long).

Ray Peyton Sr. buys Maggie Herbie for her college graduation. Herbie arranges for Maggie to race Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon), a fellow racer, and Herbie wins the race.

Ray Peyton Sr. does not want Maggie to race because she got into an accident when she was younger.

Okay. You know what’s going to happen next.

Trip is going to trick Maggie, Herbie is going to feel betrayed, Trip is going to try to destroy Herbie, Maggie will ask for Herbie’s forgiveness,  Herbie will forgive her and Maggie will stop Herbie from being destroyed.

And… that’s exactly what happens.

Anyway, Ray Sr. still does not want Maggie to race; however, Ray Jr. encourages her.

Race day time! Ray Sr. (eventually) approves of Maggie racing, and…

Anyway, Maggie wins the race, people think that Trip is crazy, Maggie and Kevin get together and Herbie gets together with a yellow Beetle.

Herbie: Fully Loaded is still a fun time.
