I liked Cadet Kelly when I was a kid; but, does it hold up?

Let’s find out:

We start off by meeting Kelly Collins (Hilary Duff). Kelly’s mother marries Brigadier General Joe “Sir” Maxwell (Gary Cole). Brigadier General Joe “Sir” Maxwell becomes the Commandant of a military school; so, Kelly needs to go to the school.

At the school, Kelly befriends Carla (Andrea Lewis). Kelly runs afoul of Cadet Captain Jennifer Oriana “Jenny” Stone (Christy Carlson Romano) and both Kelly and Captain Stone have a crush on Cadet Major Brad Rigby (Shawn Ashmore).

Captain Stone makes Kelly take an obstacle course twice.

School dance time! Kelly accidentally Carries Captain Stone’s dress and Captain Stone has a Carrie-like reaction to Kelly ruining her dress.

Anyway, Kelly is ready to tell her mom what she thinks of the school; however, Kelly’s mom is preggers. Kelly decides to make the best of it; however, she paints Captain Stone’s hair first.

Kelly has to help the drill team as a form of punishment; however, she eventually makes the team. Kelly and Captain Stone decide to do a routine together for regionals. 

Kelly’s father needs help; so, she goes and rescues him.

Kelly and Captain Stone perform their routine, they/the military school get second place, Captain Stone is moving to Europe and Captain Stone wishes Kelly well.

Cadet Kelly is your slightly above-average Disney Channel Original Movie.
